Characteristics of the Maruho Abacus

The beads are the life of the abacus.  A good abacus has smooth movement of the beads and produces a high clear sound.

To produce a quality item, all materials are carefully selected and dried in order to avoid shrinkage.

To ensure its long-term usability, the craftsperson applies his experience, fine touch and takes into consideration natural moisture, dust, etc. when finishing drilling holes in the beads and polishing the bamboo rods.

The more you use the abacus, the more its smoothness improves.  Please avoid moisture, dust, and oil.  Occasional cleaning of the beads and the bamboo rods using a soft brush or dry cloth will keep your abacus in good condition for years to come.
